Enhanced Portable Satellite Broadcast Receive Terminal (EPSBRT)
The original PSBRT was developed in response to a need to provide a miniaturized Fleet Broadcast Receiver and demultiplexer for use in small, restricted space environments. Mnemonics, leveraging technology developed in the R-2482 USQ/Radio Receiver, delivered in six months an initial order of sixteen PSBRT Receivers and Expansion Chassis, each capable of receiving up to seven channels of Fleet Broadcast data. With the evolution of High Speed Fleet Broadcast (HSFB) requirements, Mnemonics saw the need to upgrade the original PSBRT equipment's to permit filed upgrades to HSFB. The result has been the development of the "Enhanced" PSBRT (EPSBRT), which consists of a broadcast receiver (BR-700) and Universal Demultiplexer (UD-700). These units, when used together, provide TRAP reception or six Fleet Broadcast channels, and easily HSFB upgradable simply by changing PROMS in the UD-700. The EPSBRT is nomenclatured under P/N 995-1001-001.

Since initial delivery to the US Coast Guard, PSBRT/EPSBRT have also been selected to provide Fleet Broadcast capability to Mobile Tactical Communications shelters in the SPECWAR and USMC Wing Meteorological van programs. PSBRT has operated in extreme footprint environments and was evaluated by COMSECONDFLT during consecutive north Atlantic exercises as outperforming the installed fleet broadcast receiver systems.
